TREATMENT AND FREQUENCY REQUIRED:

Factors to be considered that influenced the frequency of treatments vary from patient to patient. Therefore, each individual must have tailor made program. The factors to be considered are:

1.      Severity of disease

2.      Longevity of disease

3.      Patient’s general health history

4.      Use of drugs taken

Clinical Data has shown that patients receiving three treatments per week respond more favorably than those of less treatment frequency. Interruption of the treatment program slows down the healing process considerably. Treatment is tapered off as health returns and a maintenance program may be recommended. It is good to remember that an acute condition required treatments of shorter duration than one that is chronic or degenerative.

IS ACUPUNCTURE SAFE?

The needles used in this office are made of the highest quality stainless steel. They are disposable (used only once), unbreakable, and FDA approved. We count the needles three times to eliminate any errors in removal, and they are marked and accounted for.

RESPONSE TO EXPECT:

Initial responses may vary from patient to patient. Some note immediate improvement, while others take several treatments before noticing a change, yet others initially feel worse before an indication of positive response is experienced.

IS ACUPUNCTURE A SYMPTOMATIC OR RADICAL TREATMENT?

Acupuncture not only relieves pain and stimulates the body’s healing process, but also alleviates other symptoms. The curative effects of acupuncture also successfully apply to a wide range of illnesses and injuries.

IS ACUPUNCTURE COVERED BY INSURANCE?

The number of insurance companies providing acupuncture coverage increases, as acupuncture becomes more popular. By providing coverage for acupuncture, insurance companies have eliminated the need of many expensive surgeries, unnecessary risks and work related absenteeism for their clients. Acupuncture insurance coverage became mandatory on January 1, 1985 with the passage of Senate bill 2179. Insurance carriers for personal injury and worker’s compensation also pay for acupuncture. Prior authorization form your carrier is usually needed.
